Dr. Steve Bateman will be leading us through this conference entitled: God’s Megaphone: Pain and Providence in the Book of Job.


More about Steve Bateman:


Steve Bateman was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He earned his B.A. degree from Columbia International University in 1983, his Th.M. degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1991 and his Doctor of Ministry degree from Reformed Theological Seminary in 2004. For four years he was a youth pastor at Northwest Bible Church in Houston, Texas, and then a singles pastor at McKinney Memorial Bible Church in Ft. Worth, Texas for three years before coming to First Bible Church of Decatur in 1992. He and his wife, Lori were married in 1985 and have two children, Josh and Joy. Steve is also the author of Brothers Stand Firm and Which Real Jesus.


The Sessions are as follows:


Session 1: Sat May 14, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM ~ Behind the Scenes of Your Suffering (Job 1–3)

Session 2 Sun May 15, 10:00 AM ~ How Not To Counsel A Friend Who is Hurting (Job 4–27)

Sun May 15, 11:30 AM ~ Church potluck

Session 3 Sun May 15 ending at 1:30 PM ~ How the Final Judgment Fixes the Problem of Pain (Job 28–37)

Session 4 Mon May 16, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM ~ Why God Gets the Last Word (Job 38–42)
